First, we learned how to get our sales literature sent to U.S. embassies throughout the world ... and they in turn published our material in the language of the country they were in. The first publication we advertised in generated 415 responses from traders around the world, who wanted to carry our products. Now, we have distributors in foreign countries who sell thousands and thousands of our products per year ... and each year the list is growing. Most countries are reluctant to pursue foreign markets. They think it’s complicated and involved, but the Cossman Program showed us that export sales are no more difficult than sending a product to New York or Ohio.

We discovered how to locate and review hundreds of proven foreign products in our field that are seeking U.S. distribution. The first product we found was a plastic wheelbarrow, made in Holland. It was easy to handle, it was light weight, and it wouldn’t rust or dent. We wrote away to the company, as we learned in the program, asking for the exclusive rights for Canada and the United States. We were surprised how easy it was to get the rights without paying a penny for them. We started with a few samples ... and we offered them at trade shows. The first year we sold 25,000 units and did about a million dollars in business. The second year, we sold almost 50,000 wheel barrows ... and this year we expect to exceed 3 million dollars in sales.

We used the Cossman methods to expand our lines with dozens of products that are popular in Europe. We learned how to locate and approach the manufacturers of those products and secure the “exclusive rights”. Then, we were shown how to sell products to the thousands of mail order catalogs in America. This added mail order distribution has enabled our company to increase its sales by millions of dollars.

Thanks to the Cossman program, our company got the “exclusive rights” to several new products. The program also showed us how to sell these different products in large quantities to major mail order catalogs. Every few months, just one of our customers gives us an order for over $100,000.00. And, adding these mail order sales didn’t increase our overhead, because we farm out everything. When orders come in, our suppliers ship the merchandise directly to our customers.
